> > > On arriving at the pool

When arriving at reception, usually you only need to say you are doing canoeing. Although you do not pay at the desk, you might be asked for your membership card, so please take it with you at all times. Go through the front entrance turnstile, turn right, the pool changing rooms, are straight in front of you. You will need 20p for a locker (which is not refundable), they are big lockers so you can share. When you get changed, you will only need shorts or swimming gear and an old tee shirt. As you go out onto the pool side, there is an auto shower that you need to go through, (to by pass walk close by on the left). Do not go into the water before you have met your instructor.

> > > At the beginning of your session

As the boats currently have to be bussed into the pool, you may be asked to help with the moving of them. Possible meeting at the rear of the pool, prior to your session. Remember the instructors are volunteers, there to instruct and help in general. It is your responsibility to help with the gear. At the end of your session please empty as much water out of the canoes as possible.

> > > Group Pool Sessions

It is essential to pre-book pool sessions. These are booked on a monthly basis, direct with the group secretary. No money can be taken at the pool, and places can't be booked without payment up front. The group paid out over £4,000 in pool hire fees during 2007, plus a further £900 on lifeguards, that by law we have to have on the side of the pool whilst we are on the water. We are trying to keep our prices as low as we can. The fees you pay are for the pool hire, lifeguards and wear and tear on equipment.
