Edmonton CG has been running Pool Sessions for over 30 years. It is a great place to get the basic strokes, do your first capsize, in a nice heated pool. There are 2 pool sessions; we try to get the youngsters into the first session, on the water for 6.35pm. The adults then follow on at 7. 20pm. Not too late for anybody. Even if you have been away for the weekend there is still time for a pool session. All sessions MUST be booked in advance.
For the beginners we have boats stored near to the pool, so you don’t need your own boat. However if you do have your own, you can bring it to the pool as long as it is CLEAN? No leaves, grit etc. Air bags need removing & cleaning before puting back into the boat. Before it goes into the pool.
We don’t really run courses, as everybody is an individual. You learn at your own spead. We will make sure you are safe in the boat. Then give you something to practice, when you are ready we will guide you onto a bit more advanced paddling. Rescues & even rolling over & coming up the other side. As there can be quite a few paddlers on the water all of our coaches wear coaching bibs. Whilst others in the pool are learning & may be good at what they are doing it is the Coaches who are trained to teach you the sport.
